Representative O’Neil, Vice Chair of the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:49PM on March, 30th 2016, in room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present

HF3275 (Nornes) Child care grant eligibility modified.

Chair Nornes moves that HF 3275 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Higher Education Finance and Policy Omnibus Bill.

HF2546 (Norton) Student loan refinancing expanded, and refinancing in emergency circumstances permitted.

Representative Norton moves that HF 2546 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Higher Education Policy and Finance Omnibus Bill.

Representative Norton moves to adopt the DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Norton testified in favor of HF 2546, as amended.

Representative Norton renews her motion that HF 2546, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion into the Higher Education Policy and Finance Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2576 (Murphy) Loan forgiveness program awareness promoted.

Chair Nornes moves that HF 2576 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Higher Education Policy and Finance Omnibus Bill.
