MINUTES

Representative Davids, Chair of the Tax Committee, began the meeting at 10:15 A.M. on February 18th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids began the meeting at 10:15. A quorum was NOT present.

A quorum was present at 10:23 and the meeting was called to order.

Representative Petersburg moved that the minutes of February 17th, 2015 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Davids moved that HF550 come before the committee.

HF550 Baker: Natural gas utilities not subject to rate regulations size limit increased, scope of energy improvement projects whose costs can be repaid via a property tax surcharge expanded, propone tank purchases exempted from sales tax, definitions added and modified, unused funds transferred, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Baker testified on HF550, first engrossment.

Representative Davids moved that HF550 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Davids moved that HF747 come before the committee.

HF747 Davids: Small business and farm property increased estate tax subtraction provided.

Representative Davids moved the H0747A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids testified on HF747, first engrossment.

Representative Davids moved that HF747, as amended, was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Davids moved that HF700 come before the committee.

HF700 Davids: Cigarette annual indexing requirement repealed.

Representative Davids moved the H0700A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids, Molly Moilanen of ClearWay Minnesota, Matt Schafer of the American Cancer Society, Paul Cumings of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, John Dunham of John Dunham & Associates, Brady Olson of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Steve Rush of Holiday Stations, testified on HF700, first engrossment.

Representative Davids moved that HF700, as amended, was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Meeting adjourned at 12:00 P.M..
