MINUTES

Representative Greg Davids, Chairman of the Taxes Committee, began the meeting at 10:15 AM on March 23, 2016, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Davids officially called the meeting to order at 10:24 AM. A quorum was present.


Representative Erik Simonson moved the minutes of March 22, 2016 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Representative Ron Erhardt moved House File 3163 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Paul Cummings, Tax Policy Manager for Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified to House File 3163.

Chair Davids renewed the Erhardt motion and moved House File 3163 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.


Chair Davids moved House File 2972 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Representative Duane Quam testified to House File 2972.

Paul Cummings, Tax Policy Manager for Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified to House File 2972.

Bryan Lake, Legislative Counsel for Minnesota State Bar Association, testified to House File 2972.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 2972 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.


Chair Davids moved House File 2387 to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus Bill.

Chair Davids moved the H2387A1 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Mike Freiberg testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Gary Carlson, Intergovernmental Relations Director of League of Minnesota Cities, testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Sarah Larson, Chief of West Metro Fire-Rescue District, testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Paul Cummings, Tax Policy Manager for Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Jason McGrew-King, Community and Intergovernmental Relations Supervisor at Three Rivers Park District, testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Jill Rohret, Executive Director of Metropolitan Emergency Services Board, testified to House File 2387 as amended.

Chair Davids renewed his motion and moved House File 2387 as amended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.
