MINUTES
Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting of the Agriculture Policy Committee to order at 10:15 AM on February 1st, 2017, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:15 AM. A quorum was present.
Representative Daniels moved that the minutes of January 25, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF22 (Smith) Trusts exempted from reporting requirements.
Representative Backer moved to reconsider the motion that HF22 be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Backer moved that HF22 be re-referred to the Agriculture Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
David Buck, President Minnesota Milk Producers Association, presented an overview on the priorities of the dairy sector.
Pat Lunemann, President of Minnesota Agri-Growth Council, presented an overview on the priorities of the dairy sector.
Marin Bozic, University of Minnesota, presented on the state of the dairy economy in Minnesota.
Tyler Otte, Kelsey Otte, Minnesota Milk Producers Association, Dairy Producers of the Year.
Curt Zimmerman, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, introduced report on the Minnesota Dairy Research, Education and Consumer Outreach Authority.
Greg Jans, CoJo Dairy, testified on report of the Minnesota Dairy Research, Education, and Consumer Outreach Authority.
David Weinand, Minnesota Dairy Initiative, presented a report on the Dairy Development and profitability Enhancement Program.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:56 a.m.
