Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:08 P.M. on February 28th, 2017, in Room Five of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Scott moved that the minutes of February 23rd, 2017 be adopted. THE MO-TION PREVAILED.
HF1476, Dettmer, Starbase MN program funding provided, and money appropriated.
Representative Loon moved that that HF1476 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.
Representative Dettmer testified on HF1476.

HF1289 Erickson, School district encouraged to notify high school students of advanced placement and international baccalaureate program offering in science, technology, engineering, and math; grants authorized; and money appropriated.
Representative Erickson moved that HF1289 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or for further action at a later time.

Senator Bobby Joe Champion introduced Alicia Simpson-Robinson, Astronaut Preparation Man-ager, NASA and South High School, Minneapolis, graduate. She provided information on her experience, especially with STEM education.
