MINUTES

Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:04 P.M. on March 6th, 2018 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Kresha moved that the minutes of March 1st, 2017 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3167 Anselmo, Suicide prevention training for teachers funding provided, and money appropri-ated.

Representative Anselmo moved HF3167 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Anselmo testified on HF3167.

Sue Aberholden, NAMI, also testified on HF3167.

Representative Anselmo renewed his motion that HF3167 be laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus or further consideration at a later date.

HF3320 Loon, School districts authorized to use long-term facilities maintenance revenue pro-grams for physical modifications enhancing school facility safety, and money appropriated.

Representative Loon moved HF3320 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Non partisan staff provided an overview of HF3320.

Representative Loon testified on HF3320.

Minnesota Department of Public Safety Staff Joe Kelly, State Director, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and Randy Johnson, Director Minnesota School Safety Center, provided a presentation and information on Minnesota School Safety Center.
