MINUTES

Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:04 P.M. on March 20th, 2018 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davnie moved that the minutes of March 15, 2018 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Commissioner Cassellius presented the Governor’s Supplemental Budget Recommendations.

MDE staff, Dr. Tom Melcher, Director of Program Finance, and Adosh Unni, Director of Govern-ment Relations, were available to answer questions.

HF3361 Kunesh-Podein, Substance misuse prevention instruction grant provided, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Loon moved HF3361 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Kunesh-Podein testified on HF3361.

Representative Loon moved that HF3585 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Davnie moved that HF2645 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Davnie moved the H2645A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davnie testified on HF2645, as amended.
