MINUTES

Representative Nornes and Senator Michelle Fischbach, Co-Chairs of the Higher Education Joint Committee, called the meeting to order at 5:36 PM on February 7, 2017, in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Nornes moved to adopt the temporary joint rules. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The candidates for the Board of Regents presented to members of the committee.

Congressional District 2:

Representative Christensen nominated Steve Sviggum for Regent in Congressional District 2. THE NOMINATION PREVAILED.

The Joint Committee recommended Steve Sviggum from the 2nd Congressional District.

The Joint Committee recommended Darrin Rosha from the 3rd Congressional District.

Congressional District 8:

Senator Fischbach nominated Becky Hall for Regent in Congressional District 3. THE NOMINATION PREVAILED.

A majority vote was not received. Molde and Stanoch were dropped from the ballot, another vote was taken.

The Joint Committee recommended Tom Devine for the At Large position.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:37 PM.
