MINUTES

Representative Masin, Chair of the Subcommittee on Local Government, called the meeting to order at 9:50 AM on April 10th, 2019 in room 400S of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Freiburg moved that the minutes of March 27th, 2019 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

A quorum was present.

HF2808 (Elkins) relating to state government; establishing a Website Accessibility Grant Advisory Council; appropriating money for grants to cities and counties to improve website accessibility; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16B.

Representative Koznick moves to orally amend HF2808: Page 2, line 24, after the period insert: “This is a one-time appropriation.” THE MOTION WAS WITHDRAWN.

Representative Elkins moved that HF2808 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2066 (Runbeck) relating to public safety; authorizing local units of government to conduct criminal background checks under certain circumstances; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 299C.

Representative Lien moves to orally amend HF2066: Page 1, line 20, after the semicolon insert “or”. Page 2, delete line 1, re-number the remaining clause. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Masin moved HF2066 to be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
