MINUTES

Representative Lillie, Chair of Legacy Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 9:04 A.M. on March 22, 2019, in Room 400N of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Wazlawik moved to approve the minutes from March 20, 2019. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2116 (Noor); Somali Museum of Minnesota funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF2116 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Noor introduced the bill.

Testifying in support of the bill:
-Osman Mohamed Ali, Founder and Executive Director of Somali Museum of Minnesota
-David Kelliher, Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at Minnesota Historical Society

Chair Lillie renewed his motion that HF2116 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

HF1367 (Poston); Region 5 Children's Museum funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF1367 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Poston introduced the bill.

Chair Lillie renewed his motion that HF1367 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

HF1332 (Considine); Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF1332 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Brand introduced the bill.

-Deb Johnson, Senior Director of Exhibits and Education for Children’s Museum of Minnesota

Chair Lillie renewed his motion that HF1332 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

HF1087 (Olson); Duluth Children's Museum funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF1087 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Olson introduced the bill.

-Cameron Kruger, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Duluth Children’s Museum

Chair Lillie renewed his motion that HF1087 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

HF1074 (Xiong, J.) - Hmong Cultural Center Museum and Library funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Xiong, J. moved that HF1074 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Xiong, J. introduced the bill.

-Txong Pao Lee, Executive Director of Hmong Cultural Center
-Jaia Tsab Hawj, Job Coach and Occupational English Instructor at Hmong Cultural Center

Representative Xiong, J. renewed his motion that HF1074 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Legacy Finance omnibus bill.
