PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY DIVISION

MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:50 P.M. on February 27th, 2020, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Christensen moved to amend the minutes for the February 19th, 2020 meeting to mark Representative Jim Nash as excused. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE AMENDED.

Representative Christensen moved to approve the minutes for the February 19th, 2020 meeting, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Edelson moved to approve the minutes for the February 20th, 2020 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Johnson moved to approve the minutes for the February 26th, 2020 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

HF 982 (Long) Uniform Collateral Consequences of Conviction Act proposed for adoption by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, law regarding collateral consequences and criminal offenders rehabilitation conformed with the uniform act, and money appropriated.

Representative Long presented HF982.

Representative Long moved to amend HF982 with the A2 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Long moved to re-refer HF982, as amended, to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.




HF 3816 (Long) Providing for an automatic expungement process for certain offenders.

Representative Long presented HF3816.

Representative Mariani presented HF3603.

Representative Mariani moved to re-refer HF3603 to the Judiciary and Civil Law Division without further recommendation. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
