HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NINETY-SECOND SESSION
AGRICULTURE FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mike Sundin, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present.

Rep. Ecklund moved to approve adoption of the minutes of the previous meeting. The motion prevailed. The minutes from the February 15, 2021 meeting were adopted.

Board of Animal Health provided a program and budget review and responded to questions.

Chair Sundin passed the virtual gavel and Vice Chair Vang assumed the Chair at 1:45 P.M.

HF 138 (Sundin) Board of Animal Health required to have one member from federally recognized tribe.

Rep. Sundin moved that HF 138 be laid over for further consideration and presented the bill.

Tribal Chairman Kevin Dupuis, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa

Rep. Sundin renewed his motion and HF 138 was laid over for further consideration.

Chair Sundin reassumed the Chair at 2:06 P.M.

HF 701 (Lippert) Soil-health farming goals established, soil-health farming financial incentives created, data collection required, data classified, and money appropriated.

Rep. Lippert moved that HF 701 be referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law and presented the bill.
