MINUTES

Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on March 2, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Erickson moved that the minutes from March 1, 2022, be approved. Motion prevailed.

Rep. Wolgamott moved that HF 1710 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

HF 1710 (Rep. Wolgamott) - Regional public library system aid distribution modified, and money appropriated.

Rep. Wolgamott presented HF1710.

Rep. Wolgamott renewed his motion to lay over HF 1710 for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

Joint presentation of the February Budget and Economic Forecast as it relates to the accounts within the E-12 jurisdiction from Minnesota Management and Budget, and Minnesota Department of Education.

Rep. Feist moved that HF 2949 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

HF 2949 (Rep. Feist) - General education basic formula linked to inflation; extended time and local optional revenue linked to the basic formula.

Rep. Feist presented HF 2949.

Rep. Feist renewed her motion to lay over HF 2949 for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.

Rep. Wolgamott moved that HF 3727 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.

HF 3727 (Rep. Wolgamott) - Special education aid shift modified.

Rep. Wolgamott presented HF 3727.

Rep. Wolgamott renewed his motion to lay over HF 3727 for possible inclusion or for further consideration at a later date.
