MINUTES

Representative Tina Liebling, Chair of the Division, called the virtual Health Finance and Policy Committee meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on February 3, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting is being broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Boldon moved that the minutes of February 2, 2021 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presentation on the role of local public health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenters:
1. David Brummel, Deputy Director, Washington County Public Health
2. Sarah Kjono, Director, Norman-Mahnomen Public Health
3. Susan Palchick, Director, Hennepin County Public Health

HF428 (Wolgamott) Local public health grant funding provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Wolgamott moved that HF428 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy bill.

Graham Briggs, Director, Olmsted County Public Health

Chair Liebling laid over HF428 for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy bill.

Dr. Michael Osterholm, Director, Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, University of Minnesota, presented and update on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:31 P.M.
