MINUTES

Representative Tina Liebling, Chair of the Committee, called the virtual Health Finance and Policy Committee meeting to order at 1:01 P.M. on February 14, 2022, pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting is being broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Huot moved that the minutes of February 9, 2022 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF11, SECOND ENGROSSMENT, (Schultz) Public option created, MinnesotaCare eligibility expanded, enrollee premiums modified, and implementation plan and recommendations required for an alternative delivery and payment system.

Representative Schultz moved that HF11, Second Engrossment, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce Finance and Policy.

Representative Schultz then moved the H0011DE6 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Schultz explained her bill as amended.

HF2499 (Boldon) Universal health care system benefit and cost analysis conducted to assist the legislature in comparing it to the current health care financing system, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Boldon moved that HF2499 be heard and laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.

Representative Boldon presented her bill.

Representative Gruenhagen moved the H2499DE1 Amendment. Chair Liebling ruled that the amendment was out of order.

Chair Liebling laid over HF2499 for possible inclusion the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:33 P.M.
