HEALTH FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Tina Liebling, Chair of the Committee, called the virtual Health Finance and Policy Committee meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on February 28, 2022 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting is being broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Reyer moved that the minutes of February 23, 2022 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Getting the Lead Out: Lead Service Lines, Schools, Childcares
Tannie Eshenaur, Water Policy Center, Environmental Health Division, Minnesota Department of Health

HF2650 (Jordan) Residential lead service line replacement grant program established, and money appropriated.

Chair Liebling moved that HF2650 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.

Representative Jordan presented her bill.

Representative Akland moved the H2560A2 Amendment.

Representative Akland explained her amendment and requested a roll call vote. The results were as follows:

On a vote of 7 AYES and 10 NAYS THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Chair Liebling laid over HF2650 for possible inclusion in the Committee bill.

HF3003 (Acomb) Lead in drinking water testing and remediation provided, and money appropriated.

Representative Freiberg, Chair, Preventative Health Policy Division, moved to adopt his Division Report of HF3003. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Freiberg moved that HF3003 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.

Representative Freiberg moved the H3003A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Acomb presented her bill as amended.
