JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on April 7, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Moller moved that the minutes of April 6, 2021 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 1030, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that the H1030A3 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Moller moved that the H1030A1 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hollins moved that the H1030A8 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Scott moved that the H1030A5 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Scott moved that the H1030A7 be adopted.

Representative Scott requested a roll call on the H1030A7 amendment.

Representative Johnson moved that the H1030A9 be adopted. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Chair Becker-Finn renewed the motion that HF 1030, as amended, be recommended to be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee and that staff be directed to make any technical corrections as necessary.

*The spreadsheet and DE amendment for HF 1030, the Judiciary Finance & Civil Law Omnibus Bill, is now posted.

*Walk-through of the DE amendment and public testimony will be taken during regular committee time on April 6, 2021.

*Amendments to the DE are due on April 6 @ 12 pm. Any Amendments to an Amendment are due by 5 pm on April 6th.

*Formal Committee action will commence on Wednesday, April 7th @ 8:30 am. If necessary, the committee will recess @ 10 am and reconvene in the evening to complete its work. In addition, the committee may meet again--if necessary-- on April 8th @ 8:30 am to conclude mark-up and vote on final passage.
