EDUCATION POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Laurie Pryor, Chair of the Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 8:33 AM on March 10, 2023 in Room 120 of the Capitol.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Keeler moved to approve the minutes from March 8, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Hill assumed the gavel at 8:36 AM.

HF1269 (Pryor); Prekindergarten through grade 12 provisions modified including general education accountability and transparency, education excellence, American Indian education, charter schools, discipline, teachers, special education, and early learning; and reports required.

Chair Pryor moved that HF1269 be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance.

Representative Mueller moved the H1269DE2 amendment.

Representative Mueller requested a roll call.

Chair Pryor moved the DE1 amendment.

Chair Pryor moved the A4 amendment to the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Youakim moved the A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Keeler moved the A6 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Pryor renewed the motion for the DE1 amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT AS AMENDED WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Pryor renewed the motion that HF1269 as amended be re-referred to the committee on Education Finance.

Representative Mueller requested a roll call.
