LEGACY FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Leon Lillie, Chair of the Committee on Legacy Finance, called the meeting to order at 11:14 AM on March 8, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Vice-Chair Hussein moved that the minutes from March 8, 2023 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2088 (Her) Minnesota Public Radio funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF 2088 be laid over for possible inclusion in future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Her presented HF 2088.

Testifying on HF 2088:
• Duchesne Drew, President, Minnesota Public Radio (MPR)
• Rachel Roettger-Limp, Teacher, College Prep Elementary, St. Paul

Representative Her renewed the motion that HF 2088 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF 1146 (Newton) Public television grant funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF 1146 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Newton presented HF 1146.

• Randal Dieterich, Executive Director, Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum

Chair Lillie renewed the motion that HF 1146 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF 1408 (Frazier) Public education radio stations funding provided and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF 1408 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Frazier presented HF 1408.

Testifying on HF 1408:
• Joel Glasser, President and Chief Executive Officer, Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations (AMPERS)

Chair Lillie renewed the motion that HF 1408 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Legacy Finance Committee omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF 2075 (Lillie) Legacy; dedicated funding website maintenance funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Lillie moved that HF 2075 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Lillie presented HF 2075.

Chair Lillie renewed the motion that HF 2075 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
