PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES

Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:31 AM on February 2, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Engen moved that the Committee minutes from January 31, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 30 (Richardson) Catalytic Converter purchase requirements established, and penalties provided.

Chair Moller moved that HF 30 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Moller moved the H0030A2 amendment.

Rep. Richardson presented the H0030A2 amendment.

Chair Moller renewed the motion for the H0030A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Richardson presented HF 30, as amended.

HF 686 (Moller) Tracking device expanded use authorized during stolen vehicle investigations.

Chair Moller moved that HF 686 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Rep. Moller moved that HF 803 be placed on the General Register.

HF 281 (Witte) Law enforcement agencies required to report carjacking data to commissioner of public safety, and commissioner required to publish carjacking data in commissioner's annual uniform crime report.

Rep. Witte moved that HF 281 be placed on the General Register.

Rep. Witte moved the H0281A1 amendment.

Rep. Witte presented the H0281A1 amendment.
