PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES


Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on February 14, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Curran moved that the minutes from February 9, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 226 (Moller) Prosecutor-initiated sentence adjustments established, and sentencing reporting required.

Chair Moller moved that HF 226 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Chair Moller moved the H0226A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Moller presented HF 226, as amended.

HF 1083 (Frazier) Criminal records expungement without petition authorized for individuals not guilty of crime as a result of identity theft or mistaken identity.

Rep. Frazier moved that HF 1083 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Rep. Frazier moved that HF 1084 be re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

HF 1437 (Hollins) Crime victim services funding increased, grants established for organizations that provide direct services to crime victims, and money appropriated.

Chair Moller moved to lay over HF 1437.
