TAXES COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 1:01 PM on February 21, 2023 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Norris moved the minutes of February 16, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1487 (Reyer) Revenue recapture provisions modified, claims from hospitals and ambulance services disallowed.

Chair Gomez moved that HF1487 be referred to the Committee on Health Finance and Policy.

Representative Reyer presented HF1487.

Chair Gomez renewed the motion that HF1487 be referred to the Committee on Health Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1810 (Fischer) Eligibility for home and community-based services workforce development grants modified, and workforce development grant money excluded from income.
Chair Gomez moved that HF1810 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Representative Fischer presented HF1810.

Chair Gomez renewed the motion that HF1810 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF893 (Baker) Sales and use tax provisions modified, and sales tax exemption expanded for capital equipment purchases.

Chair Gomez moved that HF893 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Representative Davids moved the H0893DE2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDEMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Baker presented HF893, as amended.

Testifying on HF893, as amended:
• Erik Forsberg, Owner; Devil's Advocate, Dan Kelly’s
Chair Gomez renewed the motion that HF893, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.
