TAXES COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 1:02 PM on March 21, 2023 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Norris moved the minutes of March 17, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF583 (Newton) Sales and use tax collections dedicated to Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission, amateur sports account created, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Norris moved that HF583 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Representative Newton presented HF583.

HF2905 (Lislegard) Property tax provisions modified, and provisions modified for supplemental information required in the truth in taxation notice.

Representative Lislegard moved that HF2905 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

HF1056 (Edelson) Sexual harassment or abuse settlements as severance payment prohibited, and state income tax subtraction allowed for damages received.

Chair Gomez moved that HF1056 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Representative Brand moved that HF1171 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Representative Brand moved the H1171A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Norris moved that HF1635 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.

Vice Chair Norris moved the H1635A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
