WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 9:03 A.M. on, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Edelson moved that the minutes of April 11, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF717 (Rehm) Chanhassen; segment of marked Trunk Highway 5 designated as Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway, and Augie Mueller Memorial Highway modified.

Chair Olson moved that HF 717 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the A3 amendment to HF 717. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Rehm presented HF 717 as amended.

Chair Olson moved that HF 1937 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the DE3 amendment to HF 1937.

Chair Olson moved the A4 amendment to the DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Newton presented the DE3 amendment as amended.

Chair Olson moved the A5 amendment to the DE3. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the DE3 amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Newton presented HF 1937 as amended.

Chair Olson renewed the motion that HF 1937 as amended be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1723 (Freiberg) Elections Budget Bill.

Representative Freiberg moved HF 1723 before the committee.

Representative Freiberg moved the A11 amendment to HF 1723. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Following discussion, Chair Olson temporarily laid over HF 1723 as amended.

HF1830 (Klevorn) State Government Budget Bill.

Representative Klevorn moved that HF 1830 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Klevorn moved the A5 amendment to HF 1830. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Klevorn presented HF 1830 as amended.

Representative Freiberg moved that the language of HF 1723 as amended, be incorporated into HF 1830, the State Government and Elections Omnibus bill as separate articles. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Klevorn moved that the language contained in HF 1830 as amended, be incorporated into HF 1830, the State Government and Elections Omnibus bill as separate articles. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Klevorn renewed the motion that HF 1830 as amended, be re-referred to the General Register, and that nonpartisan staff be directed to make any technical corrections and amend the title. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2887 (Hornstein) Transportation Finance and Policy Budget Bill.

Representative Hornstein moved that HF 2887 be re-referred to the General Register.
