1.2Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.3    "Section 1. VETERANS IN CRISIS DE-ESCALATION TRAINING.
1.4$100,000 in fiscal year 2015 is appropriated from the general fund to the
1.5commissioner of public safety to be spent for training state and local community safety
1.6personnel in the use of crisis de-escalation techniques for use with Minnesota veterans
1.7following their return from active military service in a combat zone. The commissioner
1.8must consult with the director of the Minnesota Peace Officers and Training Board, and
1.9may consult with any other state or local governmental official or nongovernmental
1.10authority the commissioner determines to be relevant, when selecting a service provider
1.11for this training. Among any other criteria the commissioner may establish for the
1.12selection, the training provider must have a demonstrated understanding of the transitions
1.13and challenges that veterans may experience during their re-entry into society following
1.14combat service. The commissioner must ensure that training opportunities provided are
1.15reasonably distributed statewide."
