Representative Patti Fritz, Vice-Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M. on Friday, March 23, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Huntley moved to amend the A07-0380 amendment as follows:

Page 12, line 28, after the semicolon, insert "(8) from outpatient surgical centers the number of surgeries performed;"
Page 12, line 29, strike "(8)" and insert "(9)"
Page 12, line 31, strike "(9)" and insert "(10)"

Page 37, line 4 insert "Sec. 35. The Commissioner shall present to the legislature on January 15, 2008, a plan for providing catastrophic loss coverage to businesses with fewer than 25 employees."

Rep. Loeffler renewed her motion that HF1998, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Thissen moved that HF2178 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

HF2178 (Thissen) Long-term care programs funding restored, services expanded, new grant
programs established, statewide priority created to enhance the mobility of older adults, studies
required, tax credit established, and money appropriated.

Chair Thissen moved to amend HF2178 as follows:

Page 2, delete Sec. 2 and Sec. 4

Page 2, line 28 after "results" insert "; and (4) county safety net protections to ensure the continued maintenance of county case management for services with disabilities"
