Applications Programmer Analyst - Chief Clerk's Office


A full-time nonpartisan position with benefits is available, to start immediately, in the Chief Clerk's Office of the Minnesota House of Representatives IT Department.

The Applications Programmer Analysts primary responsibility is to develop, design and support applications for the Minnesota House of Representatives for publishing documents provided to the members of the legislature, staff and general population for daily legislative sessions. The position is responsible for the development, maintenance, documentation and support of the Minnesota House of Representatives Chief Clerk’s Office customized Microsoft Office desktop applications.

Candidates must be a motivated professional with excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment needed. A good understanding of the legislative process is helpful. Proven ability to remain objective, nonpartisan, confidential and professional regarding all assigned legislative duties and interactions with all members and staff.

Ability to work effectively as a team member and to contribute to a pleasant, efficient internal work environment in the Chief Clerk's Office. Must be flexible and able to work long and irregular hours during legislative sessions and at certain other times.

Qualifications: .NET Framework, MS Visual Studio 2022, MS Office 365, MS SQL Server, Oracle SQL Developer, Web design, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework, DevExpress tools for WinForms.

This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and Department needs. The House offers a competitive salary and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Starting classification and annual salary commensurate with relevant experience. Applications Programmer Analyst range $80,212.56 - $144,382.56. The starting salary range for an entry level is generally between $80,212.56 and $88,233.84 depending on relevant experience.
