The Minnesota House of Representatives is seeking non-partisan applicants to fill temporary Committee Page positions for the 2025 regular legislative session. These positions will begin January 2025 and continue for approximately 4-5 months.
Committee Pages provide various support services to legislators, staff, and the public. Typical tasks include: assisting committee staff and legislators prior to and during committee hearings; collating and distributing hearing materials; recording committee hearings; completing errands within the Capitol Complex for members and staff; delivering supplies; and receiving and delivering messages from visitors. Pages also perform or are available for similar tasks in the House Chamber while the House is in floor session.
Committee Pages may be assigned to specific committees and must work closely with staff to ensure committee hearings function smoothly. They are required to attend all meetings of assigned committees. In addition to early morning and daytime hours, pages are frequently required to work evenings and occasional weekend hours.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, non-partisan individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong desire to serve in the legislative process. Successful candidates must value professionalism and be willing to work long hours until a given task is complete or meeting is concluded.
This is an hourly, at-will position that works in person, 35-40 hours per week. Benefits include earned sick and safe time, paid holidays based on hours worked, and earned non-exempt overtime. Starting classification and hourly rate commensurate with relevant experience. Committee Page hourly salary range is $19.71-$22.09 commensurate with experience. The starting salary range for an entry-level Committee Page is $19.71 per hour.
