Full-time Research Consultant position in the Republican Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Responsibilities include working with House committees, individual legislators, and appropriate legislative staff to assist in drafting bills and amendments; to collect, analyze, and disseminate information relating to legislation and public policy; to conduct constituent correspondence; track legislation; and maintain communication between legislators, staff, and other interested parties. The candidate must be flexible and willing to cover a wide range of possible issue areas throughout the assignment.
We prefer someone with: (1) a graduate or professional degree (2) demonstrated ability to provide research and analysis; (3) excellent oral and written communication skills; (4) PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and spreadsheet skills. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours, especially during the legislative session. BA/BS required. Please note any issue area expertise in your cover letter.
This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and Department needs. Research Consultant I - III range $65,694.24 - $144,382.56. The starting salary range for an entry-level Research Consultant I is generally between $65,694.24 and $72,263.76, depending on relevant experience.
