Social Media Director - Republican Caucus

Full-time Social Media Director position is available in the Minnesota House of Representatives Republican Caucus.

Responsible for creating a positive brand for the House Republican Caucus with a focus on digital strategies.

Among the tasks of the Social Media Director are to manage caucus social media accounts, provide social media and message guidance to the caucus, assist with high-level communications planning and strategy, produce and train staff and members on use of social media, including video and graphics, and assist Leadership with special projects.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to handling the dissemination of real-time information for the House Republican caucus. Familiarity with the legislative process and state government is highly preferred, along with the ability to work well with leadership, caucus members, and staff. Proficiency in Word along with social media platforms is essential. Must be willing to work extended and non-standard hours as required to meet the demands of the legislative session. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus.

We prefer someone with: (1) previous writing experience, (2) excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours especially during session. Frequent public contact and excellent human relations skills a must.

This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and Department needs. The House offers a competitive salary and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Starting classification and annual salary commensurate with relevant experience. Social Media Director range $72,920.64 - $131,256.96. The starting salary range for an entry-level Social Media Director is generally between $72,920.64 and $80,212.80, depending on relevant experience.
