News from the House

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Arts
Promoting funding:
Legislators being asked to sustain funding for the arts in Minnesota could have heard from no better person than a former governor who himself wrestled with a monster-sized budget crisis.

Health
Obtaining prescription drugs:
A bill that would make it easier for some low-income Minnesotans to obtain prescription drugs was approved by a House committee.

DAILY FACT: Rebecca Otto (DFL-Marine) won a special election Tuesday to become the newest House member. She won the District 52B seat that was vacated when former Rep. Mark Holsten accepted a position as deputy commissioner of the Department of Natural Resources.
