ST. PAUL – State Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, announces the city of Appleton is receiving a $1.2 million state grant to fund projects in the city.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development issued the award through the Small Cities Development Program. Half of the Appleton funding will be used to fund multi-family housing rehabilitation of up to 42 units in the city. The other $600,000 will support storm water conveyance and street improvements.
“Appleton has had some challenging times these past 15 years and it’s nice to see help coming from the state for these projects,” Anderson said. “This is really good news not only because these important improvements will be completed, but because the city’s taxpayers will be spared the cost. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in submitting this successful grant request for the people of Appleton.”
