Franson Responds to Governor Walz Terminating Reelection Effort and New OLA Findings
Saint Paul, MN - In response to this weeks news of Governor Walz terminating his bid for an unprecedented third term and the OLA's audit of the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), Representative Mary Franson (R-Alexandria) issued the following statement:
"After 8 long years of failed leadership under Walz, it is clear that we need a fresh start and a new governor. Walz and his cronies have built a political machine that has allowed fraud in excess of $9 BILLION, with no end in sight. Swapping Walz out for another Minnesota Democrat will only perpetuate the problem and continue us down this very dangerous path to destruction, all on the taxpayers dime."
"The OLA audit report of BHA this week was just another example of the insane fraud, mismanagement, and lack of accountability that is allowed under the Walz administration. Not only were funds dispersed against grant management policies, but individuals across the grant oversight process were found to have created records, after the audit began, to back up these payments. Yet again, the Walz administration has turned a blind eye to fraud, waste, and abuse in state programs."
