Rep Isaac Schultz Responds to State Budget Forecast: Lower Taxes

ST. PAUL, MN — Representative Isaac Schultz (R-Elmdale Township) issued the following statement regarding this morning's state budget forecast announcing an improved economic outlook and large budget surplus.

“The February budget forecast released this morning reinforces my longstanding position that Minnesotans demand tax relief. From income and property taxes, to car tabs and Social Security, for the average working family, the tax burden in our state feels like ‘death by a thousand paper cuts.’

Adding insult to injury, the industrial-scale fraud that has occurred under Governor Walz has directly harmed Minnesota family budgets, to the tune of thousands of dollars per household. This session, we must pass a one-time tax rebate to return the surplus back to the people of Minnesota."
