Co-Chair Franson Highlights Clean Infrastructure Bonding Bill
Saint Paul, MN - Rep. Mary Franson (R-Alexandria), Co-Chair of the House Capital Investment Committee, highlighted the committee’s work this session advancing a clean bonding bill focused on Minnesota’s core infrastructure needs.
The House Capital Investment bill includes approximately $1.28 billion in funding, including:
• More than $409 million for clean water infrastructure projects, including drinking water systems, wastewater treatment upgrades, PFAS mitigation, and lead service line replacement
• Approximately $176 million for roads, bridges, rail crossings, and transportation safety improvements statewide
• Nearly $79 million for DNR asset preservation, including state parks, trails, and flood mitigation infrastructure
• Nearly $70 million for deferred maintenance and infrastructure improvements at Minnesota State campuses
• $17.5 million for public housing rehabilitation projects across Minnesota communities
“This session, we worked hard to keep the bonding bill focused on the basics Minnesotans depend on every day,” Franson said. “That means investing in clean water systems, safer roads and bridges, and critical infrastructure projects across our state. I am proud of the work of the committee and my Co-Chair, Rep. Fue Lee, to make a difference for Minnesotans through bonding.”
