Rep. Koznick Secures Design, Funds Long-Sought Safety Needs at Elko New Market County Road 2 and I-35 Interchange ![]() St. Paul, MN — Rep. Jon Koznick (R-Lakeville) has successfully secured $1.2 million in state appropriations for the reconstruction of the interchange at I-35 and Scott County State-Aid Highway 2. These funds come from the trunk highway fund and may be used for predesign and design of the corridor to safely accommodate current and future growth in Elko New Market. Rep. Koznick gave the following statement regarding the appropriations: “This critical project was the very first thing Elko New Market shared as its top priority when I began representing parts of Scott County. As Transportation Chairman and part of the Capital Investment bill negotiation team, it is rewarding to realize that the hard work of advocating for a safer County Road 2 at I-35 has paid off. The project will now be supported and funded. Last fall, we were successfully granted some construction funds. These new appropriations will save the city and county from having to use a property tax levy, as well as get the project off the ground faster. It is an honor to represent the Elko New Market area and deliver results for the city." ### |
