  1. Information Received from the IAFF
  2. Discussion of Topics for Possible Recommendation by the Work Group
    • Members of the Work Group should come prepared to discuss the following topics:
      • MN Cop (similar to the Minnesota Firefighter Initiative)
      • Workers' Compensation recommendations
        • Date of injury for PTSD claims in the workers' compensation system
        • Change 14 days to 30 days for the notice period, but only for PTSD claims for the presumptive job classes
    • Additional items for discussion that may not be ready for recommendation:
      • Extraordinary stress standard

Only if the fortuitous event unexpected and unforeseen [the accident or accidental result] can be said to be so out of the ordinary from the countless emotional strains and differences that employees encounter daily without serious mental injury will liability under ch. 102, Wis. Stats., be found.
      • Continuation of the employer's contribution for health care coverage for duty disabled members of the PERA P&F Plan
        • If the peace officer or firefighter has applied for, been approved to receive, or is receiving benefits under section 353.656 for a duty disability that is not based solely on a psychological condition as defined in section 353.032, subdivision 1, the employer is responsible for the continued payment of the employer's contribution for health coverage until the officer or firefighter reaches age 65. If the peace officer or firefighter has applied for, been approved to receive, or is receiving benefits under section 353.656 for a duty disability that is based solely on a psychological condition as defined in section 353.032, subdivision 1, the employer is responsible for the continued payment of the employer's contribution for health coverage for five years or, if earlier, until the officer or firefighter reaches age 65.
