Starting Line: Doing more to combat 'lunch shaming'

In 2014, Gov. Mark Dayton signed into law a requirement that Minnesota schools participating in the National School Lunch Program not demean or stigmatize students who, for whatever reason, can’t afford to pay for their school lunches. Yet, reports of “lunch shaming” continue to pop up.

This week on Starting Line, Rep. Tony Jurgens (R-Cottage Grove) is proposing legislation that would double down on the fight against lunch shaming.
