Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area council update OK’d by House

The advisory council that provides input for the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area could see some changes to its membership structure, following a 126-0 vote by the House Tuesday.

The Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area Citizens Advisory Council was established to provide direction on the operations of the recreation area.

Sponsored by Rep. Dale Lueck (R-Aitkin), HF2847 would modify the council by updating the names and organizations represented and specify a member from both the Senate and House to be included, instead of an “elected state official,” as stated under current law.

The bill now goes to the Senate, where Sen. Carrie Ruud (R-Breezy Point) is the sponsor.
