The House Health and Human Services Finance Committee approved bonding requests for 14 projects. The committee’s recommended priorities are scheduled to be heard by the House Capital Investment Committee Wednesday.
The top six items are those recommended by the governor for new facilities for the sex offender program and repairs, redevelopment, or asset preservation for various projects for veterans homes and regional treatment centers.
In addition, the committee recommended bonding for another seven veterans home projects and the Hennepin County Medical Center Crisis Intervention Center expansion and renovation.
Not all the agencies’ requests were included in the committee recommendations. Committee Chair Fran Bradley (R-Rochester) said he was being practical about what has a chance. Including everything could jeopardize those projects with higher priorities, he said.
