Phew. It was one of those weeks at the Legislature.

Lawmakers didn’t officially return from their Easter/Passover break until Tuesday, but quickly made up for lost time with several days of hours-long floor debates on hundreds of amendments to six omnibus bills. Five of those were eventually passed, while the sixth – HF1555, the omnibus transportation bill – was laid on the table.

Debate on it is expected to resume Monday, when the omnibus public safety bill, HF2792/SF802*, and the omnibus higher education bill, HF2544/SF2415*, are also on the Calendar for the Day. The omnibus state government (HF1935) and environment and natural resources (HF2209) finance bills are scheduled for debate Tuesday.

But before we look ahead, let’s look back at what you may have missed this week.
