Week in Review: May 13-17

Last week at this time it was hoped the fishing opener would provide Gov. Tim Walz and legislative leaders the opportunity to work out their budget differences.

One week later the budget negotiations continue, but observers have little idea what, if any, progress has been made over the last seven days toward an agreement that would allow the 2019 legislative session to end on time.

With 72 hours and change remaining until Monday’s midnight deadline, the prospects for a special session grow. But while we await further news, let’s look back at some of the stories you may have missed from the past week.
