House GOP Releases North Star Comeback

April 10, 2026

Friends and Neighbors,

This week, House Republicans released our North Star Comeback budget, which is the largest tax cut proposal in Minnesota state history at $3.8 billion.

Part of this proposal includes my property tax rebate bill, which will use money from our state's current budget surplus to offset the $1 billion in levy increases that Minnesotans are expected to pay this year.

Minnesota ranks 44th among the 50 states for tax competitiveness. From property taxes, to car tabs, to no tax on tips and overtime, the foundation of this House Republican agenda is to reduce your overall annual tax burden and leave you with more money in your pocket.

DFL Blocks Bills to Preserve Girls' Sports

Preserve Girls' Sports

Minnesota has recently made national headlines for unfortunate reasons, as our state is being sued by the U.S. Department of Justice for Title IX violations pertaining to Democrat legislation that allows transgender athletes to compete in girls' sports.

This week, House Republicans once again brought forward legislation that would ban transgender athletes from competing in female sports to the House Floor. Sadly, not a single one of our DFL colleagues voted alongside us to preserve girls' sports.

House Democrats continually prove how out of touch they are with the vast majority of the American electorate—including their own constituent base—on this issue.

I am confident that, in the long run, common sense will prevail.

Workforce Hearing on Walz's Handout Bill

In the Workforce, Labor, and Economic Development Committee, we held a hearing on HF4477, which is a DFL handout bill to provide up to $25,000 in grants "to businesses negatively impacted by federal enforcement activity." Due to "sanctuary city" policies in Minneapolis and St. Paul, the federal government came to Minnesota to enforce immigration law. Seeing an opportunity to distract the public from the fraud epidemic, DFL legislators encouraged disorder and rioting in the streets. It is outrageous to now suggest that taxpayers who were going to work in every other corner of Minnesota would have to bail out the Twin Cities.

Thank You for Sharing Your Priorities

Thank you to everyone who visited me in St. Paul and to the dozens of people who attended my two town halls over Easter break! Your insight is what allows me to draft effective legislation that will directly improve our community and Minnesota at large.
