House OKs technical changes to education loan forgiveness programs and labor agreements

The House voted 127-4 Sunday night to add clarifying language and make technical changes to higher education loan forgiveness programs and certain labor agreements.

Sponsored by Rep. Bud Nornes (R-Fergus Falls) and Senate President Michelle Fischbach (R-Paynesville), HF3051/SF3062* would make technical and clarifying changes to the aviation, teacher shortage, agricultural educators and large animal veterinarian loan forgiveness programs.

These provisions are included in the supplemental funding omnibus bill, HF4099/SF3656*, and discussed during conference committee. They are also included in this standalone bill along with provisions that would provide labor agreements for the Minnesota State College Faculty and the Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty.
