HF 9 (Richardson) Firearms; law enforcement and family members enable to petition a court to prohibit people from possessing firearms if they pose a significant danger to themselves or others by possessing a firearm.
**Updated HF 8 and HF 9 Evening Hearing Information**
Location: Capitol 120
Time: The Committee will reconvene at 7:00 pm
Ticketing: This event will be ticketed on site by the Sergeant of Arms.
Time Allotments: Proponents and opponents of each bill will be afforded 30 minutes of testimony for each bill. The bill author’s presentation will count toward the proponents 30 minutes.
Testifying: Individuals interested in testifying will need to sign up with the committee via email at HF8andHF9Testimony@house.mn or via phone at 651-296-1478. Individuals who are not able to testify are encouraged to provide written testimony to the posted email by 12:45 pm on Tuesday on February 26.
Additional Hearing: The Chair's intent is to pass HF 8 and HF 9 on Wednesday evening. If we are not able to do so, we will continue hear these bills on Thursday evening at the Capitol. No further testimony will be taken at that time.
