MINUTES

Representative Michael Nelson, Chair of the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:01 PM on March 7, 2023 in Room 10 of the State Office Building. It was broadcast via House Public Information Services.

Representative Mekeland moved to approve the minutes from March 2, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 981 (Hicks); State Building Code; installation of adult-size changing facilities required in restrooms accessible to public.

Chair Nelson moved that HF 981 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Nelson moved the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hicks presented HF 981, as amended.

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF 981 be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1571 (Berg); Prevailing wage documentation required for projects utilizing state financial assistance.

Vice Chair Berg moved that HF 1571 be re-referred to the Economic Development Finance and Policy Committee.

Vice Chair Berg moved the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Berg presented HF 1571, as amended.

Vice Chair Berg renewed the motion that HF 1571, as amended, be re-referred to the Economic Development Finance and Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2442 (Berg); Employer prohibited from forcing employees to attend political or religious meetings or otherwise listen to speech about politics and religion.

Vice Chair Berg moved that HF 2442 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Vice Chair Berg presented HF 2442.
