Representative Tim Wilkin, Chairman of the Commerce and Financial Institutions Committee, called the thirty-ninth meeting to order at 5:26 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006, in Room 300S of the State Office Building.

HF2921 (Severson) Leaves of absence for family members of seriously injured or killed member of the armed forces required, veterans programs provided and funded, military pension tax subtraction created, educational fairness required, and money appropriated.

Rep. Severson moved that HF2921 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance.

Rep. Severson moves to orally amend HF2921 THIRD ENGROSSMENT with the following:

Page 1, Line 23: Following “grant,” insert up to ten working days of

Page 1, Lines 25-26: Delete “Leave must be granted for a reasonable amount of time necessary to attend to an immediate family”

Page 2, Lines 1-2: Delete “member who has been injured and for a reasonable amount of time necessary to attend services for and attend to the affairs of an immediate family member who has been killed.”

“Sec. 21. [Re-issuance required] An insurer that issues or has issued a long-term care insurance policy prior to July 1, 2006, that satisfies the requirements for a partnership policy, as defined in section 256B.0571, subdivision 6, except for the date the policy was issued, shall re-issue the policy after July 1, 2006, with no changes in the terms of the policy or the premium.”
