MINUTES


Representative Joyce Peppin, called the SECOND meeting of the Technology, Bioscience & Medical Products Division to order at 12:35 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Peppin moved that the minutes from the meeting of January12, 2005 be approved.
The motion prevailed.

Kate Rubin, President of Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Michael Wright, President and COO of Entegris, Rondi Erickson, CEO of Apprise Technologies in Duluth and David Minnkkinen, Senior Manager of Bearing Point gave an overview of major trends in the markets for technology and medical products, and answered questions from members.

Ray Frost, Executive Director of Minnesota Biotechnology Association and Dr. Robert Elde, Dean of theCollege of Biological Sciences at UMN gave a presentation of Biotechnology, and answered questions from members.

Don Gerhardt, CEO of Medical Alley, Ross Longhini of American Medical Systems and Tom Borillo, CEO of Atritech gave a presentation, and answered questions from members.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:25 p.m.
