MINUTES


Representative Tim Wilkin, Chairman of the Commerce and Financial Institutions Committee, called the sixteenth meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

HF1220 (Brod) Local and state welfare agencies authorized to use unemployment insurance data to assist in collection of overpayment debts in assistance programs.

Rep. Wilkin moved that HF1220 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Rep. Brod presented HF1220.

Testifying:

Rep. Wilkin renewed his motion that HF1220 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee. The motion prevailed.


HF572 (Johnson) Methamphetamine precursor drug sales regulated, civil immunity provided for reporting of suspicious transactions, criminal penalties and property restrictions imposed, meth lab cleanup fund established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Severson moved that HF572 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee.

Rep. Johnson presented HF572.


Rep. Severson moved to incorporate the H0572A23 amendment to HF572.

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Rep. Atkins moved to amend HF572 as follows:

Page 5, delete lines 19-20.

The motion did not prevail. The amendment was not adopted.


Rep. Davids moved to amend HF572 as follows:

Page 4, line 10, insert "or electronic" after "written".

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.


Rep. Simpson incorporated the following change to the H0572A20 amendment.

Page 1, delete lines 7-12.

Rep. Simpson moved to incorporate the H0572A20 amendment to HF572.

The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.


Rep. Howes incorporated the following changes to the H0572A22 amendment.

Page 1, line 3, delete "12", insert "13".
Page 1, line 18, delete "or", insert "and".

Rep. Howes moved to incorporate the H0572A22 amendment to HF572.

The motion did not prevail. The amendment was not adopted.


Rep. Severson renewed his motion that HF572, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Jobs & Economic Opportunity Policy & Finance Committee.

The motion prevailed.


Rep. Davids moved that moved that the minutes from the committee meetings on March 9, 2005, be approved. The motion prevailed.

The meeting adjourned at 2.35 p.m.
