MINUTES


Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the fourteenth meeting to order at 10:27 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Newman moved the minutes from the February 10, 2005, Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith moved HF483 (Knoblach) relating to trespass law expanded relating to time of return to private or school property.

Rep. Smith moved to amend HF483 with H0483A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith moved to amend HF483 with H0483A2 amendment.

Rep. Smith laid A2 amendment on the table.

Rep. Knoblach presented HF483

Rep. Smith moved to orally amend the A2 amendment (see attached). AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Rep. Smith renewed his motion to amend HF483 with H0483A2 amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith renewed his motion to recommend HF483 pass as amended and that it be referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Hilstrom moved HF382 relating to nonvehicular flight from a peace officer prohibited, and misdemeanor penalty imposed.

Rep. Hilstrom renewed her motion to lay HF382 on the table for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Policy and Finance Omnibus Bill.

Rep. Cornish moved HF618 relating to providing false information to police prohibited.

Rep. Cornish and Rep. Hilstrom present HF618.

Rep. Cornish moved to amend HF618 with H0618DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
